Incoming freshman Andy McCoo fresh off losing to Billy Collins

Returning sophomores Mike Dunham and Pat Escabi, along with incoming freshman Andy McCoo are playing on a summer league team in the Rivier College Summer League.
Playing against a team consisting of ex-New Hampshire Playaz members such as P.J. Flaherty (Brown University), and Steve DeLuca (Brandeis University) the trio played a strong game winning 69-66.
Joining the trio of Mustangs on the squad are players like Chris Tardif of Bentley College, Joe Tardif of Nothern Essex Community College, Josh Carter of Colby Sawyer College, and Chris Lacasse formerly of Endicott College.
Entering the 2nd half Pat Escabi drove the lane for an attempted lay up before being fouled, on his way down he landed on the official's foot and re-sprained an ankle he had previously hurt during spring captain's practices. Pat finished the game with only 3 points on 1/3 from the field.
In his first competitive action in some time Mike Dunham scored 3 points on 1/5 shooting, all from three point land to go with 4 rebounds. Finally Andy McCoo had a strong performance as the only player on the court still in high school. He finished the game with 7 points on 3/4 shooting, his only miss on a 3 point attempt.
Following this triumph the team was asked to stay due to the fact that one of the teams ( a team consisting primarily of Endicott College players) had not shown up for their scheduled game.
Playing their second game in a row with a 5 minute break for rest and Pat Escabi in the stands injured the team showed well considering there were multiple professional players on the floor in the form of Billy Collins (formerly of Boston University), and Matt Alosha (formerly of University of New Hampshire) to go along with former McDonald's All American Scott Hazelton (formerly of University of Rhode Island).
Down only 15 at the half 52-37 the team played an up and down game of very little defense and about 9 or 10 Hazelton dunks before a Joe Tardif mid court shot at the buzzer closed the game out at 97-76.
In the second game again spliting time at the point with Josh Carter, Mike had 3 points on 1/3 shooting. In a strong performance for the high school player Andy McCoo finished with 10 points on 5/9 shooting to go along with 2 steals and 3 rebounds as he also played about half the game (The game consists of 2 20 minute running halves).
They play this team of traveling all stars (ex Kentucky point guard and former Boston Celtic Wayne Turner is also on the roster) is once again the opponent in next week's match up, this time a loss will count against them. It'll be at Rivier College next wednesday evening (6/8/05)
