The Mount Ida Mustangs are led by Head Coach Rico Cabral. Rico has spent the past 14 years
as head coach of the Mustangs following coaching stops at Marshfield High School, St. Bonaventure University, Boston College,
and Massasoit Community College. He has 400+ career wins and looks to add a few more before all is said and done

Matt McGaughran - Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Jason joined the Men's Basketball program in the fall of 1997 as team manager. After a year
on that job he was promoted to Student Assistant for the next two seasons, after which he was named as an Assistant Coach.
He spends his summers coaching at several basketball camps, Sharon Summer Hoops Day Camp, Rico Cabral's Swish Day Camp, Dennis
Wolf's "In The Air" Boston University overnight camp, and Championship Basketball School on the picturesque Mass Maritime

Matt joins our staff after an eventful career. A former North Atlantic Conference Rookie
of the Year Matt went on to have a 5 year career marred by injuries and two surgeries. Through it all he was a 4 year
captain, played every position on the floor at one time or another, converted himself from strictly a scorer into the team's
top play maker, his senior year leading the team in assists. He finished his career becoming the school's 7th 1,000 scorer
ending with 1,037 points. Matt will be a huge asset to the staff with his practice instruction and ability to evaluate and
recruit talent.
